When it was time for Ludivine the bloodhound to have her toilet break, she didn't realise that she would end up becoming a half marathon canine superstar.
After being let out for a toilet break, Ludivine ran over to where she saw a bunch of people gathering at the start line of the Elkmont Trackless Train Half Marathon in Elkmont Canada.
The dogs owner April Hamlin, 41, was interviewed by Runner's World and told them, "All I did was open the door, and she ran the race on her own accord." "My first reaction was that I was embarrassed and worried that she had possibly gotten in the way of the other runners."
Ludivine had a great race, and she ended up finishing in 7th place. What made her race even more remarkable was that she even managed to do a little exploring along the way!
She was sidetracked several times and would run across streams, and into various yards to have a bit of a sniff. She even managed to locate a dead rabbit and also studied a herd of cows at one point.
Ludivine had such an impact on the race that it has been renamed to Elkmont’s Hound Dog Half Marathon!
Well done Ludivine, you are officially Keep Laughing Forever's favourite long distance runner!
